Development and validation of a new generation Common Rail fuel pump through vision of customer/company requirements and the use of innovative concepts that provide competitive advantage in performance, cost and quality.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible of the engineering interface between company Comon Rail HP Pump team and the customer base
· Ensure pump properties are in line with customer and company’s Common Rail System requirements, with maximum communality with existing DFP pumps
· In charge of the development of a Customer Product Specification
· Initiating technical gap analysis for new project/new customer request
· Developing solutions with the various DFP teams: Design, Development, Validation, Manufacturing engineering using standardized methods, and facilitating two-way communication between departments
· Looking after serial engineering modification of some application (RFQ preparation, implementation monitoring and customer communication)
· Raising internal specs for each application per manufacturing sites
· Participate to the competitive analysis and bench marking with the application team and lead design engineer
· Apply ICIM methods using DOE’s, 6 Sigma, Green Y and other statistical tools to achieve product robustness. (Training will be provided to fill current gaps in experience level)
· Be positive, encourage, coach, and share knowledge with all Common Rail pump cross-functional team members.
· Participate in Program Project reviews and design reviews
· Develop and present technical presentations to customers and others on new or current pump programs
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
•Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent in physics etc.
•Must have developed and supported a product that was taken successfully into volume production.
•Must have technical French language skills
•Must be innovative and visionary in developing design options.
•Must understand and apply physics to the development process.
•Ability to develop and present technical presentations to customers and others.
•Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
•Personal strengths should include: Confidence, self-directed, goal oriented, customerfocused, with strong team interaction skills that facilitate cross-functional involvement.
•Must be able to constructively deal with conflict situations.
Preferred:
•Basic project management skills are desirable.
•HP Pump & CR System development experience.
•DOE and statistical analysis knowledge
