Mechanical Design Engineer – Body section
Leading Automotive organisation are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within the Body Section.
The role of the Mechanical Design Engineer of body equipment will primarily be responsible for welding jigs, fixtures, special purpose machines and robot cells. Additionally paint process equipment, trim final assembly and testing equipment.
The Mechanical Design Engineer - Body will need experience in the following:
- Tooling and equipment design.
- Special purpose machines.
- Mechanical design, detailing, assembly drawing, bill of materials and geometrical tolerancing.
- Design of machined and fabricated components.
- Creation of sequence charts and pneumatic diagrams.
- Catia V5 solid modelling.
- Awareness of project control via schedules, cost tracking and manpower allocation.
- Awareness of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical control systems.
- Demonstrate experience of problem solving and implementation of successful countermeasures.
The Mechanical Design Engineer must have a HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
The suitable candidate for the role of Mechanical Design Engineer will be:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A good team member with strong communication skills.
- Proactive, assertive, open and responsive to change.
- Able to work under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- Experience in controlling, leading and supervising contractors and temporary staff would be an advantage.
- Willingness to work extra hours when required.
- Flexible and adaptable to constantly changing requirements of the business (bank holiday, weekend working if required). |
