Powertrain Mechanical Design Engineer
Leading Automotive organisation are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer of Powertrain equipment, especially machining, machining jigs, fixtures and pallets (Engine related not product design).
The role will include:
*Mechanical design solutions for new model implementation onto line.
*Standard parts procurement/Sourcing to EU.
*Project control via schedules, Cost tracking, and Manpower allocations.
*Supplier Support, development and control.
*Production Support/Problem Countermeasure.
*Daily and Weekly verbal communication with team and section.
*Weekly and monthly written reports.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will:
*Have a minimum of 3 years in mechanical design, draughting, parts lists, detailing, geometrical tolerancing, tooling design/tooling making and customer liaison.
*Have expertise in any of the following; CAD operation in: Cadam 2d, Helix 2d, solidworks 3d or Catia V5 3d.
*Be proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
*Have expertise in current drawing standards (2d output).
It is desirable (but not essential) for the successful applicant to have experience in:
*Hydraulic, pneumatic & basic electrical control systems.
*Large and Small Project Control/Supervision.
*Machinery directive/machine building knowledge.
*CE marking & requirement knowledge.
*Design risk assessment capability.
*FMEA knowledge.
*Aluminium & Steel cutting techniques.
*Materials technology & process planning knowledge.
The successful applicant must also:
*Have good teamwork and the ability to be able to communicate all issues freely.
*Must be proactive, assertive, open and responsive to change.
*Have the ability to control/lead and supervise contractors and temporary staff.
*Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and be self motivated.
*Have CAD/Production Engineering, and it is desirable to have HNC and/or time served apprenticeship. |
